2026 FUSE resident Elan Retzlaff discusses their project during the Maker-in-Residence opening.

Opening Night for FUSE’s Makers-in-Residence

FUSE’s 2026 Makers-in-Residence Elan Retzlaff and Jessica Metz wrapped up their projects with a talk and opening at Exhibit/208 on the evening of September 2nd. The opening was the culmination of four months of workshops, long days, and hard work. This is the first time that the public was able to view the finished works. More than twenty people attended.

Elan and Jessica were selected from more than thirty applicants to be FUSE’s first two Makers-in-Residence. The Nusenda Foundation supported their residencies.

From Exhibit/208, the works will move to Smith Brasher Hall on CNM’s Main Campus where they will be on display for public viewing.

FUSE Makerspace will be closed for the holidays beginning Wednesday December 24, 2025 and will reopen Monday, January 5, 2026. We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year!
